Pregnancy Reflexology

Being pregnant is one of the most exciting times in a woman’s life. However, as your body is going through significant physical, hormonal and emotional changes, some women are unfortunate to suffer from uncomfortable and sometimes very painful symptoms at some stage in their pregnancy. Some of these symptoms include:

  • Morning sickness
  • Headaches / migraines
  • Backache / sciatica
  • Heartburn
  • IBS/ Constipation / Diarrhoea
  • Indigestion
  • Anxiety
  • Shortness of breath
  • Symphysis Pubis Disorder (SPD) or Pelvic Disorder Syndrome (PDS)
  • Cystitis
  • Oedema (mild swelling in the hands/ankles)
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Itchy skin
  • Fatigue
  • Insomnia
  • Mood swings

Reflexology gently supports your body, bringing it into balance and releasing tension, and as it can also improve your sleep and mood it will not only help you to cope better and alleviate some of your symptoms, but it is also a great way to relax before the birth of your baby, to take some time for yourself in preparation for the challenge ahead.

Roisin is qualified to treat clients at any time throughout their pregnancy, including the first trimester. There are some contraindications that make reflexology unsuitable during pregnancy but Roisin will always check that you are not affected by any of these before commencing treatment.
